ジョーイ・ワロンカー（Joey Waronker）、ルーク・レイノルズ（Luke Reynolds）、そしてザック・レイ（Zac Rae）という長年アメリカの音楽を支えてきた3人のセッション・ミュージシャンによる新プロジェクト『Proof』。その源泉にあるのは、1960〜70年代のサイケロックへの憧憬と、英語以外の言語で歌われるポピュラー音楽への関心だった。

インドのシタール奏者プルバヤン・チャタジー（Purbayan Chatterjee）と、アメリカ合衆国のギタリスト、マーク・レッティエリ（Mark Lettieri）の興味深い共演作『Feathered Creatures』がリリースされた。自身の音楽的基礎を超越したい、という根源的な欲求から生み出されたこのアルバムは、インドのシタールと西洋のエレクトリック・ギターというそれぞれの文化を代表する弦楽器が対等に対話し、新しい音楽の風景を見せてくれる作品だ。
