フランス出身のジャズ・ヴィブラフォン奏者、サイモン・ムーリエ（Simon Moullier）が早くも6作目となるアルバム『Ceiba』をリリースした。熱帯アメリカやアフリカに自生し、さまざまな文化で神聖視される巨木セイバをインスピレーションの源とし、ポスト・バップから現代のジャズ、そして未来のジャズまでをも見据えたエキサイティングな傑作だ。

ジャズやファンクにグナワ音楽を持ち込み、その強烈なグルーヴで四半世紀以上にわたり人々を踊らせてきた米国のジャムバンド、クラブ・デリフ（Club d'Elf）。バンドにグナワの遺伝子を注いだ活動初期からの最重要メンバーであるモロッコ出身のブラヒム・フリーブガーン（Brahim Fribgane）は2024年初頭に亡くなったが、彼への追悼とともに“トランス体験”を是とするコレクティヴの根幹的な魂が健在であることを証明したのが、2026年4月にリリースされた最新作『Loon & Thrush』だ。
